Ramsgate Maintenance Depot Open Day

29th August 2015

The power car at the opposite end of the "Hastings" DEMU formation was sporting a small yellow warning panel, and it was this vehicle which was also open to cab visits. It was also possible to venture into the carriages to observe the splendidly-restored interiors. On the right, we see a train from a much more recent time: the Class 395. © David Glasspool

A type long associated with Ramsgate: the Motor Luggage Van. Ten of these were built for the Kent Coast Electrification Scheme, primarily for use on heavy boat trains to the Kent Coast. No. 419002 had recently been restored at Southall and returned to there later that day with Bulleid Light Pacific "Tangmere". © David Glasspool
