The ''up'' platform's stairs are protected from the elements by the copious canopy. The stairs of the ''down'' platform were encased in a CLASP shelter after removal of the canopy on that side. © David Glasspool

Looking down the stairs, we can see the fine metal railings and brackets which surround the subway entrance. The position of the lift can also be seen, its shaft continuing through the roof of the canopy. © David Glasspool

A Chatham-bound view shows the station's final configuration, with a hotchpotch collection of shelters on the ''down'' island, whilst the ''up'' platform remains largely complete. The elongated CLASP shelter behind the ''down'' lift shaft covers the subway stairs on that side. © David Glasspool
