A London-bound view shows that the station has been fortunate to retain its 19th Century timber waiting shelter, when so many were demolished by British Rail. A Maidstone-bound view from the ''down'' platform again shows the vintage timber waiting shelter and the prefabricated concrete footbridge, the latter dating from electrification in 1939. New Lampposts had just been installed. © David Glasspool
