Class 204 / 205
Hampshire / Berkshire DEMU
13th October 2004
No. 205001 is now seen departing London Bridge with the return service to Uckfield, with the classic trainshed
forming the backdrop. A complete redevelopment of the London Bridge station environs commenced in 2010,
and it appears that this historic structure will be removed. The latest plans outline dismantling the trainshed,
for re-erection elsewhere. © David Glasspool

Continuing on from the previous picture, No. 205009 is seen trailing on the rear of the formation. Between
the buffers can be seen the buck-eye coupling and a Pullman-style rubbing plate. © David Glasspool
4th December 2004
No. 205001 is seen pairing with No. 205009 once again, but this time on 4th December 2004 heading
London-bound through Gatwick Airport. The black triangle indicates to platform staff at which end of
the train the guard's / luggage area is located. This view gives a good impression of how much room the
engine compartment took up. © David Glasspool
