Folkestone Harbour

The end of the line. The run-a-round facility seen in the October 2001 view was no more, and the buffers had been brought forward onto the ''down'' track. The single-track formerly extended right out to where the boat can be seen. Of note are the ornate iron columns, supporting a decidedly weathered decking. © David Glasspool

Behind No. 67021 is a BR Mk 1 full brake vehicle, No. 6313, which has been converted into a generator coach. Built in 1958, it is now a permanent part of the VSOE fleet, and is based at Stewarts Lane with the Pullman vehicles. No. 67021 has already been in the wars: on 4th June 2001, a brick was lobbed at one of the windscreens, causing severe cracking and calling for a replacement. The wall behind the locomotive sits where goods sidings formerly met the platform lines. © David Glasspool

No. 67026 is seen leading the VSOE formation back up the gradient to the sidings at Folkestone Junction. The tight curve in the background is that which can be seen from the Harbour station, and roads flank either side of the line at this point. © David Glasspool
