Of the three shop fronts to the left of the station entrance, the two furthest away were completely destroyed by bombing in September 1940 and subsequently rebuilt. Reconstruction was finished over a decade after the end of World War II, which included a simplified entrance facade, seen here. © David Glasspool
This view towards the buffer stops shows part of the shopping arcade which was incorporated within the 1935-completed station. SR rebuilds of Bromley North and Exeter Queen Street (Central) stations also incorporated shops flanking the main entrances, although that at the former long since disappeared to make way for an office block. © David Glasspool
