260 yards south of the platforms, where the station passing loop merges to single track, is situated the small timber signal cabin. The original intention was to maintain this as an interim measure until the extension to East Grinstead opened. © David Glasspool
The signal cabin at the northern end of the southbound platform was rescued from "Brighton Upper Goods Yard" and erected on a new brick base, but it was not operational at the time of this photograph. The line joining from the left is that leading to the former goods sidings. The building merchant on the left was once a saw mill. © David Glasspool
The former goods sidings can be seen coming into view on the right, flanking either side of a grassed platform once used for loading livestock into wagons. Unlike structures at Horsted Keynes and Sheffield Park, the upper floor of the station house is not completely tiled. © David Glasspool
