The main station entrance has been along the western side of the layout since the alterations of 1975, but this building appeared ten years later, its glass portion reminiscent of those structures which were earlier erected at Maze Hill and Chelsfield stations. © David Glasspool
As at many of the stations which have received such structures, the new footbridge at New Cross has by far become the site's dominant structure. Construction took most of the latter half of 2014 and it finally opened to passenegrs in December. At platform D, on the left, Class 378 No. 378152 is seen awaiting departure for Dalston Junction; in the background is Class 465 No. 465178 on an Orpington service; finally, on the right, No. 465186 passes through non-stop, Charing Cross-bound. © David Glasspool
