The tight curvature of the platforms can be appreciated in this north west view from Fort Pitt Hill. In the background can be seen a recently re-laid "up" siding whilst on the right, behind the trees, is the "power box". © David Glasspool
The last train had already left in the early hours of the morning, but there remained activity out the front of the station in connection with the rail replacement bus service. Although the main building's doors were open, the shutter was down over the subway entrance. © David Glasspool
Class 66 No. 66232 was on hand to haul a ballast train at a very slow pace through the station, this of which was being laid on the track work through the new station. A replacement signal gantry can be seen beyond the platforms. © David Glasspool
