A northward view from the same position shows what we would logically conclude as North Junction, at the top of the triangle. Curving to the right are the tracks which lead to East Junction and Sheerness-on-Sea. The main road on the left will descend to rail level before the single track to the docks crosses over it. © David Glasspool

Another southward view, but this time from the opposite side of the road, reveals the dock branch once again. The Royal Navy docks here closed in 1960, subsequently seeing 2,500 jobs lost, but the Merchant Navy operation still remains. © David Glasspool

The single track branch wends its way up a slight gradient to the docks in this northward view, the edge of which is indicated by the palisade fencing on the left-hand side. The main products now imported here are brand new vehicles. © David Glasspool
