Sheffield Park

The station building demonstrates the architecture which was standardised along the route and can still be
found at Horsted Keynes and Kingscote stations. East Grinstead Low Level once demonstrated a structure
of similar design, but on a much larger scale; sadly, this was replaced by a dreary CLASP affair in 1971.

A final view shows Bulleid Light Pacific No. 21C123 (or, under BR numbering, 34023) ''Blackmoor Vale'' at
the head of a train of Bulleid-designed stock at Sheffield Park. It was one of 110 Light Pacifics, and emerged
from Brighton in 1946. The engine worked right up to the end of SR steam on the South Western Division in
July 1967, but did not arrive on Bluebell metals until October 1971. David Glasspool
