The Liverpool Street sidings are partially laid upon the former site of EWS' Temple Mills Traction Maintenance Depot. They replace previous sidings at Thornton's Field, Stratford, which were swallowed up in the Olympic Park development. The sidings are about 300 yards long and were completed at the beginning of July 2008, five weeks ahead of schedule. ''Balfour Beatty Rail Projects'' was awarded the contract for the work. © David Glasspool
A westward view shows the sweeping double-track to Tottenham Hale. As can be seen on the right, much derelict land, formerly occupied by the EWS depot, remains disused and fenced off. © David Glasspool
