A Greenwich-bound view from the top of the stairs shows, beyond the brick arches, the cast-iron stilts which support the eastern end of the "up" platform. A lattice bridge is in evidence across the high street, and there is still much work to be done. © David Glasspool
Another Greenwich-bound view, this time from the platforms, shows incomplete canopies on both sides of the lines. © David Glasspool
Deptford sunset. A London-bound view shows the silhouettes of the SELCHP incineration plant (SELCHP: South East London Combined Heat and Power) and, on the right, the "Shard" skyscraper. © David Glasspool
Finally, we see the L&GR carriage ramp of 1836. Within its arches were once stored carriages, these of which were then winched up on the incline to platform level. Here, they would be rotated on a turntable and access the running lines through a headshunt manoeuvre. Sadly, the incline had a neglected appearance on this day and still awaited restoration work to begin. © David Glasspool
