Redlynch

A south westerly view shows the level crossing adorned with American-style fixtures and fittings, but signalling in the form of a distinctly British-looking round-post semaphore. The Cairns Tablelands dominate the background. © David Glasspool

The ground frame is located at the south eastern extremity of the station's platform. Three levers are in evidence, although only that painted red is operational, controlling the semaphore signal at the level crossing. The white colour of the remaining two levers indicates these are ''spares'', therefore have nothing to operate. © David Glasspool

Any view of the station would not be complete without the ''Red Beret'' pub restaurant (known locally as the ''Red Hat'') being included, as seen on the right of this view. Watch the trains pass in style, whilst sitting down enjoying a few Australian beers. My local guide Alan tells me Thursday nights down there should not be missed! © David Glasspool
