Since the first photographs in this section, the remnants of the old ''up'' line have been removed and a ''down'' track on a new alignment laid. Beyond the road bridge, progress on a new footbridge was well advanced. © David Glasspool

An eastward view back towards the station again shows the new footbridge framework as the dominant feature. As can be seen, much work has yet to be done to clear vegetation on the right-hand side for the new track alignment to the temporary station site. Demolition of the end-of-terrace houses was imminent. © David Glasspool

This view at the eastern end of the station, under Harrow Manor Way, shows the site where the four lines will narrow to double-track. A short distance beyond the trees on the left can be found the main construction site offices, which occupy a former car park. © David Glasspool
