Class 33
Crompton
March 1989
Built in March 1962 and originally numbered D6594, No. 33209 was observed in a sorry state in March 1989, at Stewarts Lane. In that month, the locomotive had been involved in a collision at Newington. It was soon scrapped, being broken up in October of the same year. © John Horton
1989
Freshly painted into SpeedLink Distribution livery, we see No. 33205 at Dover Town Yard in 1989. Withdrawn in July 1992, the locomotive spent periods in store at Stewarts Lane, Hither Green, and Old Oak Common. Heavily vandalised, it was scrapped in August 2003 at Barrow Hill. © Wayne Walsh
5th November 1989
A classic pose at Hither Green on 5th November 1989 as three Class 33 locomotives line-up in the original Southern Railway shed. No. 33055 is leading, this and the second locomotive being treated in all-over BR Blue, whilst the third Class 33 is in two-tone TrainLoad grey livery. © David Glasspool Collection
