No. 1698 heading over Eynsford Viaduct

To mark the end of slam-door operation on the Southern Region in general, a rail tour from Ramsgate

to Weymouth was run, which also ran into Waterloo and Kensington Olympia on the way. The scheduled

departure from Ramsgate was an early one - 05:56 to be precise - with an arrival at Weymouth envisaged

to be 13:47. The tour is seen here led by 4 Cep No. 1698 on 17th September 2005, passing over Eynsford

Viaduct. Behind is 4 Vep No. 3545, followed by 4 Cig No. 1866, the latter from the South Central Division.
