Class 375 No. 375617 is seen forming the rear of an eight-vehicle formation in this view, which shows that the signal box's staircase has been shifted to the rear since the 2004 photograph. The curved glazed structure in the background was at that time the Network Rail Archives. Originally completed in 1994 to house a new signalling panel, it did not finally fulfil this function until the turn of 2012. © David Glasspool

A general view from the level of the main station building shows a clutter of walkways and the then recent glazing of the platform staircases. Emerging from the darkness is Class 465 No. 465022, forming the front portion of the next North Kent Line service to Charing Cross. © David Glasspool

The EMU depot is on the right of this view, which shows Class 66 No. 66186 approaching the level crossing with just a single 102 tonne BRA steel strip carrier wagon in tow. © David Glasspool
