A faded ''EWS'' sign is seen in a low sun at the ''up'' yard. The same branding has been painted in a rather economical fashion on the behind tanker wagon! The mess rooms seen in the 1987 photograph can just be seen in the background, to the left of the wagon's buffer beam. © David Glasspool
