Through the trees! Following on from the previous page, the triple-track formation can just about be seen. The new railway complex uses nearly three miles of new track, extending for 1½-route-miles. © David Glasspool

Tilbury Docks dominates this Thames-bound view from the chalk ridge which separates the former cement works site from Church Path Pit. The new track work can be seen running parallel with the river, just in front of the concrete office block. © David Glasspool

Now back at the North Kent Line, we are looking in the Gravesend direction, Northfleet station being approximately ⅓-mile behind the camera. In view is ''Springhead Junction'': the line coming in from the right is that from Ebbsfleet International. The bridge parapets in the foreground mark where the ''down'' line from Ebbsfleet, and the single-track to the former cement works site, pass under the North Kent Line. © David Glasspool
