Hastings DEMU No. 1035 is Charing Cross-bound from platform 3 in this view, whilst beside platform 5 is the London service via Bat & Ball and Swanley. At this time, there were services via Bat & Ball to both Victoria and Holborn Viaduct. © Al Dykes

A London-bound view from the ''up'' side shows construction of the replacement enclosed footbridge in full swing. The SR canopies, which still exist today, can just be seen underneath.
