Sadly, much of the route has been used as a dumping ground. In the centre, we see a single surviving rail, which runs for most of this section of the track bed. © David Glasspool
By the time we reach the northern extremity of the surviving track bed, the former branch has risen onto an embankment. This eventually carried the route over the SER's North Kent Line to Gravesend Central. The tunnel here had always been a general thoroughfare between fields, no narrow gauge industrial line having passed through it (which, conversely, was so often the case). © David Glasspool
Closer inspection reveals sections of Standard Gauge rail within the tunnel, which had been recovered from the track bed and installed here. © David Glasspool
