The siding behind the platform, where our old friend ''Rolvenden'' was earlier pictured, has now been dedicated

to the luxurious stock of the ''Wealden Pullman''. This train comprises four vehicles: two Hastings-gauge Pullman

cars, a BR Mk 1, and a Maunsell coach fitted out with Pullman-style chairs. David Glasspool

A view down the platform in the direction of Cranbrook Road Crossing and Rolvenden reveals a splendid

array of stock on either side: a Pullman vehicle of 1926 origin on the left, and an 1864-built Metropolitan

District four-wheel carriage on the right (amongst others of equal interest). The section of platform between

the camera and the kink is that which was added in 1972. David Glasspool

The signal box has reverted to a Navy Blue-backed name board, but the colour of the timber remains unchanged.

The crane on the right was once located within the goods yard here and, the only one of its kind along the line,

could lift three tons. Behind the crane is the Anderson Shelter-styled Colonel Stephens Museum, which was once

an emergency supply store during World War II. David Glasspool
