Victoria to Weymouth

4th September 1998

How it should have ended. Our old friend, No. 6024 ''King Edward I'', is seen on an earlier occasion ascending Upwey Bank, with a splendid

rake of ''Blood & Custard'' BR Mk 1 carriages in tow. Class 47 No. 47721 was assisting at the rear, somewhat more reliably than our Class

31 on the day! The Isle of Portland forms the backdrop. © David Glasspool Collection
