The original schedule routed the train over the Westbury Cut-Off line, but diesel No. 31128 had failed at the
rear of the train. Plans were revised to include a stop at Westbury to source a spare part for the diesel from
another locomotive of the same class stabled in the yard. David Glasspool
In the sidings to the west of the station were a trio of Class 31 diesels, Nos. 31454, 31459, and 31601, one of
which would be the source of the mysterious spare part our crew were after. David Glasspool
Departing Westbury, we are the best part of an hour behind schedule, and there are yet more fun and games
to come from the diesel. David Glasspool
