The area still looks very temporary, the new stairs being flanked on either side by scaffolding. A section of the former ''low-level'' concourse is still in evidence. © David Glasspool
The curved roof of the former international terminal has never had a flush connection with the ex-LSWR terminus, leaving a gap of about 35-feet. As a result, a rather crude flat-roof metal canopy has been erected in line with the new staircases, to protect passengers from the elements over this exposed section. Swaithes of palisade fencing has also appeared within the arched trainshed. © David Glasspool
The access arrangements made in 2014 did not last long and in March 2016, work began to properly integrate the former Eurostar terminal with the rest of the station. This forms part of an £800 million upgrade of Waterloo, which includes the opening of former international platform Nos. 20 to 24 for domestic services, and the lengthening of platform Nos. 1 to 4 on the opposite side of the station. Platform Nos. 20 to 24 will be shortened at the buffer stop ends to enable a widened concourse to be provided, this of which will be linked to the Victory Arch station entrance by a new bridge. © David Glasspool
